This course deals with the biology and pathology of clinically significant microorganisms. The classification, anatomy, physiology, and genetics of these organisms will be discussed. Emphasis will be placed on control of microbial growth, the diagnosis of infectious disease and the importance of microbiology to the healthcare profession.
