Welcome to 8th Grade U.S. History! In this course we will examine the foundational ideas, conflicts, and compromises that shaped the U.S. Beginning with European colonization and the American Revolution, we will trace the drafting of the Constitution, challenges of the Early Republic, westward expansion, and industrialization. Second semester, we will analyze both the economic and ideological differences between the states that led to the Civil War and finish the year with the social and political rebuilding efforts of Reconstruction.
