AP Human Geography is a yearlong course designed to fulfill the curriculum expectations of a one-semester university human geography course. The course focuses on the processes and cause and effect relationships of human populations. We will travel (through books, videos, and the internet), explore, consider, and better understand how more than seven billion of us live and work within the globe's various regions. Case studies from around the globe are used to provide meaning, and comparisons are drawn to situations that exist in the United States, and within our state and local areas. Major themes that transcend the course of study at multiple levels of scale include globalization, modification/adaptation, diffusion, assimilation/acculturation, integration and interaction. Units will include introductory geography and methods, population, migration, culture, political geography, economic development, industry, agriculture, and urban geography.  Special emphasis is placed on geographic models and theories and their applications.
